In Loving Memory of Mrs. Traci Ellena (Ragland) Pulliam
Traci Ellena (Ragland) Pulliam was born on September 17, 1967 to Ronald Joseph Brown-Ragland and Yvonne Loretta (Caldwell) Ragland at the Eden Hospital in Castro Valley, California. She passed away at home as she slept on May 9, 2024.
Traci was raised by her grandmother Azalea E. McCrory in Oakland, California. This is where she learned to love reading and numbers. In her free time, she would read the dictionary. She was baptized at the Church of All Faiths in Oakland, California under the pastorate of Rev. Robert C. Thomas. She received her education in the Oakland Unified School District where she excelled in mathematics. After receiving a certificate in business management, she started a 2-week temp job at PeachTree C.A.S as a Customer service representative, kickstarting a 25+ year career in Bookkeeping.
Traci met Daron Pulliam in 2016 and they were married on April 18, 2017, making their home in Sacramento. Finding companionship in one another, his calm demeanor complimented her quirky ways, and they looked forward to a long and happy life together.
Traci immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her infectious smile, bubbly personality, and drama queen antics. She loved her family, and filled her home with warmth and laughter. She enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, playing Wordscapes, and watching basketball. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and everyone’s biggest cheerleader. Perhaps her greatest gift was her ability to light up a room with her laughter. May her celebration of life to be full of vibrancy, color and joyful music. We will miss her greatly.
Traci is survived by her husband, Daron Pulliam; children, Dwayne Chandler, Tatiana Scott, Shantel Roberts, Yvonne Ragland, Melodie Ortiz, and Dixie Gaines; grandchildren, Jade Hewitt, Nia Cervantes, Richard Kiel, Christian Minter, Jamal Minter Jr, Amir Chandler, Angel Chandler, and Zariyah Chandler; sister, Tunisia Brown; aunt, Anita Turner; sister-in-law, Juavette Pulliam Johansen; and many loving sons-in-law, nieces, cousins, coworkers and friends.
Traci was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She leaves this message from the Word found in John 16:22... “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
