Casey is survived by his wife of 74 years, Frances, and his children Randy (Ginger) and Zachary (Chrisy), eight grand children and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Dean Jones, and sister-in-law Carol Jones (Robideaux).
Lisle (Casey) was born on October 24, 1932 to Lisle and Ella Nora Jones. He graduated from McClatchy High School, where he met Frances Dickson whom he would marry in 1951. During high school, at the age of 15, he began working for the Continental Baking Company.
In 1952 he joined the United States Army and served our country for two years active duty in the Korean War and served an additional 6 years in the US Army Reserve. He reached the rank of Sergeant and received the Korean Service medal, Good Conduct medal, UN Service medal, and the National Defense Service medal.
Upon his departure from military service he returned to work at the Continental Baking company and continued working as a baker at Wonder Bread and Rainbo Bread. He retired from Rainbo in 1994 as a Production Superintendent close to 50 years in the baking industry. Dad loved to cook and was very proud of his work at Rainbo; he would boast about having produced the best buns in the Nation for a period of 6 consecutive years.
Casey was many things to many different people during his life time. In the mid 70’s he was a soccer coach for the Fulton El Camino Recreation and Park District. He also coached soccer and was a Physical Education teacher at St. Philomene Catholic School. Along with his wife Frances, he assisted in chairing many parish festivals, special events and activities and was part of the parish family outreach to families immigrating to the United States from Vietnam.
As a child Casey enjoyed summer visits with the family to Camp Sacramento where he enjoyed fishing with his father, Lisle Sr. and his brother Ron (Mickey). Summer visits to Camp Sac would be a tradition he continued with his family. Casey and Fran participated as Board Members of the Friends of Camp Sacramento for many years. Following his retirement Casey worked as the camp cook for two summers.
Casey will be remembered as a lifelong San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan who enjoyed coaching and cheering for his children’s activities, loved to laugh, always enjoyed a good party, loved cooking, and loved to help others however he could.
In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made to support our Veterans through the Wounded Warrior Project.
