John William Hein

John William Hein passed away unexpectedly at home on February 14, 2022, at the age of 65.

John was the second son of Gerald and Alberta Hein, born on April 22, 1955, in Sacramento, California. In his youth, John attended Sacramento Union (Adventist) Academy where he excelled in academics, music, and sports. He played trumpet in the school band, and two of his track and field records still stand.

After graduation John moved to the Lake Tahoe area, working as a ski instructor at Kirkwood Meadows Ski Resort. He was an experienced skier who looked forward each year with great anticipation to ski season.

Upon returning to Sacramento John operated a successful automotive body repair business, KK Collision Center, in Rancho Cordova for 34 years.

John was an avid golfer and he and his wife Laura could be found most weekends at the Rancho Marietta Country Club.

John was predeceased by his father Gerald Hein, stepfather James Ballard, and daughter Chelsea Hein. He is survived by his wife Laura, daughter Amy, brother Tom, Mother Alberta Ballard, in-laws Bill and Shirley Kincaid, and family members and friends who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
